Ishqiya is a story about love arising in characters, portrayed uniquely according to their own personal traits. The situations in the plot lead the characters to experience the emotion creeping into their lives in the most unexpected manner. It is a story about three romantic personalities played by Arshad, Vidya and Naseer. Vidya Balan plays a scheming woman, two-timing the uncle and nephew played by Naseer and Arshad. An album that takes one by surprise and converts into a must listen on your playlists quite effortlessly.

What does one say about 'Dil To Bachcha Hai' - The fabulous voice of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan set to the opening bars from a mouth organ, a retro beat and just the simple strums of the guitar. However, the real winner in this song is the lyrics. They are just incredible! Gulzar retains his trademark style but delivers new age lyrics, which will find relevance in just about everyone's world today. Love Rahat's pronounciation of the words in the song as well (e.g. - sufaed) A great listen!

Ibn Batuta is the 'dhadakta hua' Vishal number, very cheeky and saucy (has a 'Beedi' like flavour in it) add to it the 'chaengra' (gully ka gunda) style of Mika's . Will make you groove in your seat while you listen it. Sukhwinder also adds to the song in his own characteristic way. The song also has 2 remixed versions.

'Ab Mujhe Koi' has been sung by Rekha Bharadwaj in her own unique style as ever. This is the slower softer song in the track, a little jazz in its feel. It takes me back to Vishal Bharadwaj's Hu Tu Tu, 'Satya' days! The song is good but for me, it still left something to be desired!

'Badi Dheere Jali' is a classical number by Rekha Bharadwaj with a bit of fusion in it. The Sarod and guitar with drums, makes for a good listen.Reminds one a little of 'O Saathi Re' from Omkara in terms of instrumentation. Although I am not an expert on classical (my claim to classical being the ear rather than the throat), the rendition did not seem top notch to me. But still it is always a pleasure to listen to classical in Hindi films these days and the bits of Sarod in between were quite beautiful - hence a pleasant listen.

A short album from Vishal Bharadwaj with 'Dil To Bachcha Hai' the pick of the lot quite clearly. Don't waste time - just go listen!!!

Vidya Balan is taking lessons in Udru and learning the rural dialect of UP and during the outdoor shooting of ISHQIYA; Vidya simply fell in love with the beautiful natural surroundings.
